We present the official jersey and the medal of the 18th European Run, which will take place on May 29 – May 30, 2021
The main graphic motif is the parliament building – one of the symbols of the capital of Hungary and the whole country
. Located on the Danube, in the Pest district, it is one of the largest national parliament buildings in the world. The jersey also features the colors of Hungary, which this year’s edition is devoted to.
Every year, the Gniezno European Run surprises its participants with a different leitmotif. Since 2015, each subsequent edition of the event is dedicated to a different country of the European Union, which means that the event has not only a sports dimension, but also an educational one. It is also an interesting distinguishing feature among many other 10 km races in Poland.
There have already been editions related to Germany, Denmark, Italy, France and Spain. During this year’s edition, runners will have the opportunity to broaden their knowledge about Hungary. The building was built after the merger of three old cities into one – Budapest. The city authorities decided that the united capital needed a new, representative seat. The building was designed by architect Imre Steindl. The main façade faces the Danube, but the main entrance is located on the Parliament Square. The largest halls of parliament there is the former Lower Chamber (today’s National Assembly) and the former Higher Chamber, currently serving as a representative conference room. The building is open to visitors, although accessibility may be limited during parliamentary sessions. In the basement there is a museum devoted to Hungarian parliamentarism.
We hope that we will motivate you to participate in the run, but above all to physical activity!
